4EAT Transmission Questions

Post by Straydog59 »

I have a 1992 LS Wagon 2WD/FWD. When starting the car (cold or hot) the car will not move when put into any gear for anywhere from 15-30 seconds to many minutes. Otherwise is shifts and drives fine. Does anyone know if this is a line pressure (pump) issue or a check valve issue or some internal seal leakage issue?

I have changed the fluid and filter an have done all the things related to proper fill (going thru gears, level ground, etc.). It is full and clean, with no mixing of gear oil from diff. and no mixing of coolant from cooler lines.

Thanks

It's probably a check valve. The torque converter is draining, and is having to be filled back up.
