new paint

Post by asc_up »

i'm going to be getting my 91 ss painted soon. new rims and tires are going to be added too. so i'm debating what colors and rims i should use.

i want to go with black but i heard that it's really hard to keep clean (especially up here in the PNW). if i don't go black then i was actually thinking of world rally blue.

if i go WRB then i think i'll find some bronze 04 STi rims.
i i go black i can't decided if i should go with the same sti rims or with black rota slipstreams or something of the like.

i was also thinking that i might go with a graphite color, much like the liberty in this thread: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=33949

what are your opinions on what color i should paint my car and the rims i should use?

that's what i was thinking. it wouldn't be too flashy. but then the WR blue is awesome because it looks nice and it is flashy lol.

and i think i'm scratching the idea on the black. it doesn't appeal to me anymore. lol. so now it's between WRB and the graphite color.

nope i've totally scratched both ideas now hahaha.
i'm getting it repainted pure white and it's going to have bronze BBS STi rims on it. but i could use some opinions on painting...

should i leave the black trim that goes around the doors and front and back bumpers black or should i just paint it the same color as the car?

and on our cars the pillars around the windows are black, but should i paint those white too?

i need opinions/photoshop if anyone is really bored. ha.

IMO the trim really gives the car it's own attitude. Otherwise it looks just like any other 4-door sedan, really. I'll throw together a photoshop real quick.

Here's a half-assed attempt on a '92:

I didn't bother to do the rear bumper. It starts to look more and more like a Nissan Sentra.

I also threw some wheels on it:

And lowered it:

n den i g0t da sahweeettt as bdy kit, y0!

lol... okay I'll stop.

hahaha the last picture is the greatest.

but thank you so much for doing that for me. i'm going to leave the trim pieces and the pillars black and the rest will be white.

you're right about it starting to look like your average commuter's car.

and subarunation, i've thought about the sti limited pearl white. it would look horribly sexy lol.

i have a picture of an sti limited in the white pearl on my ceiling.
my car now hates me for it but it's SO HOT i cant even handle it.
:smt023

yeah i forgot to post you about that, leave the black pillars, they're definitely sweet.

Fkyx
that last one is nuts!
the bumper is bigger than the whole car!
but it's sweet :)

Well, it was meant to be a joke. I didn't try to make it match at all. I just used the first photo I could find with similar angle... and it's still not even close hehe.
