Well I believe I figured out my AWIC leak issue. I put in the coolant dye, and I am leaking at the 90 degree fittings just after/before the fittings on the AWIC. I hadn't put any clamps on previously....let that be a lesson to me. But even after putting hose clamps on the coolant was still squirting out when I pressured up the system.

I'm probably going to take the bumper off, and modify the bumper beam to fit a larger radiator core in. When I do that, I'm probably going to cut the original hoses that I got with the AWIC as they have a 90 degree bend, that I think I can use along with a standard brass fitting.

So....that's the info for now.

Update on the starting issue.

I did some testing a few weeks ago when my battery was near dead. When I tried cranking, I pretty much got nothing, just some clicks from under the dash. Jumpering the starter interlock relay with a wire produced the same result.

However removing my home made plug-in starter interlock relay harness would let the starter engage, but not turn over since the battery was very low.

Once I did that, hooking my home made plugin harness back up, and the starter would engage.

I had tested this in the past, and typically if I left the ignition switch on, unplugged the main connector and plugged it back in, everything would work fine.

I have removed my home made plugin harness and the wiring is hooked up like it was when it was an automatic. I have not had any issues starting it....however I haven't started it a bunch, and I really want to test it with the battery very low.

But for some reason my harness seems to be the culprit......I'm not quite sure why though.....

Last summer my main fuse box went south. I spent a week chasing wires all over the car because my switched power from the ignition was reading 12v but I didn't think to put a load on it. I finally put a load on it and chased it back to the main fuse box.

What load did you put on it, and how did you test it?

Sorry about the late reply.

Well, I tested it with my multi-meter with the plug disconnected from the ignition switch. Read 12.5 volts. Plug it in, turn the switch, and nothing. So I connected it, put the multimeter on it and turned the ignition, and it dropped to .5 volts. I've modified my wiring so much that I just had to unwrap some tape to expose the wire. Otherwise one could take a tiny little bit of insulation off, or use some thin MIG wires to poke into the back of hte connector with it hooked up.

I traced it back to the main fuse box and the fuse for main switched power. I got the same result with the multimeter. Then I rigged up a 15A fuse with leads to see if I could pop it off the terminals for the big fuse there. It would pop from the one side of the fuse where the power comes from, but not where the pin that the big plug on the bottom connects to. So from that I had isolated it to inside the fuse box between the fuse and where it leaves the fuse box.

I had to wire around it with a 80A external fuse to get myself back on the road for the time being.

Make any sense?

Yeah that makes sense I believe.

I'll know for sure if it's my custom harness if I drain the battery down and the starter will engage but either turns over slowly or engages but doesn't turn over. With the custom harness in, the starter wouldn't turn over or sometimes wouldn't engage when the battery is low.

Most if not all the time, this occurred when the battery voltage was low. If I find the harness is the problem, I'll have to pull everything out, and recheck the wiring, or just try and replace it.
