I just did the math today of how much I've put into the car.
$2759.60, plus some odds and ends I know i'm forgetting. Oh yeah, that doesn't include the price of the car. sheesh! so, yes I am taking a decent loss. Damn wagon!! oh well, gotta have it.

Here, NASIOC, SL-i.net, LGT.com, craigslist. I also have the car parked in a high traffic area. Then there is Ebay which I haven't done. but, of course that costs money.

Dude! I paid $1500 + an 03' Yamaha dual sport for a 160k mile Legacy SS in DEC of 05, other than the mileage, it was waaaay clean. EVEN with the engine going out on me about a week later, I'd have bought it all over again...

These cars are awesome... Worth tuning and definite keepers. Your car is quite cherry and very well done and worth the $3k you were asking initially.

The problem is that pretty much everyone is in a slump now... Heck, I just finished my rebuild last week... And I'm the kind of person that'll eat rice and Ramen for car part financing..

The point is.. you get what you pay for... and that lil puke offering $500 can sit on it and spin!

I doubt he owns or even has a real subaru.. :P He's probably just a nasioc lurker.. "with all sorts of stage 5 stuff yo.." I totally work with a guy like that... Drives a plain 95 Eclipse and "doing a stage 4.5 swap soon... just waiting on an available engine.." I'm like riiiiight.. mkay.. he said, "a 4.5 stage engine = stage five internals, for running a 10 second quarter mile... in a stage four block... for street-legal appearances..." I then asked him if he's going to have "NOS" and he assured me he'd have a double bottle setup.. HAHA, dude, this is Missouri.. in most places, inspectors don't even look for CATS! let alone test smog... OR search for modifications to engines...

and Ebay.. well, yeah, good coverage, but so many people there are low-ballers. My dad and I put up a full SCCA prepped and caged RX-7 with Hoosier race slicks on Ebay and it brought a mere $215! My dad *I hope* spaced out the reserve... and yup someone got a sweet ride for nuffin!

Ugh... I've got the legacy bug again but I've got my money budgeted into a new deck this summer.

Damnit! that would be a perfect project car for me, except for the missing 3rd & 4th part... I'd need to be able to drive it 600 miles.

I just spent more money than I have to get mine to pass inspection. :smt022 I've got $110 in the bank and just shelled out $236 for exhaust work and inspection (on my credit card of course). I make a bit over $200 a month working two days a week (mind you I'm in school!). Hope to get a real job this summer though.

How's the transmission?

Spending money I don't have is a habit I try to avoid as it is. :?

What I'd really like for new car (by the end of the summer perhaps) would be a third gen (2000-2004) Legacy GT (wagon or sedan!) :-D

ya but thinking economically, you are better off buying shtbxr's car than paying ALOT more for a 2000+ subaru.

im just saying that if you were to do it, now is definitely the time. ;)

temp guage you mean?? You should change the thermostat, radiator cap, and do a coolant flush and put some good subaru coolant. Then squeeze the hose a few times when running to get the air out and then screw it continously with the air screw out and tighten it should be all good.
