Power steering goes away until I touch the gas?

Power steering goes away until I touch the gas?

Lately I've been noticing this more often. It doesn't happen consistently. Every once in a while my power steering will go away until I tap the gas. It happens when I'm at rest, and even sometimes when I'm decelerating (out of gear).

Ideas?

Tighten/check the belt.
