Hey Bill,
Remember Dan Evander from the STi - Mlist?
He is running 2.5 SOHC heads on a 2.2 block.
Hope to be in touch with him soon.
Preference for SOHC heads over DOHC heads is because we have SOHC heads.
I wanted this swap to be as painless as possible.
Think the DOHC swap has some extra headaches.
I wanted a true blue bolt off, bolt on, R&R, or as close as I could get.
Since I'm force fed, and not racing, didn't think it would matter much, one way or the other performance wise, at the small HP increase I'm after =>> double ;^) <<=
Have also heard more torque from SOHC and I want low end torque more than top end power, though again, doubt if there will be much diff way down around 300 HP.
Mostly though, either way it doesn't matter much to me. I'm not checking out the class records, I don't have a slot reserved at the salt flats, and the Discovery Channel has not contacted me. This started out as a simple intercooler retrofit and Frankensteined. I am trying to keep it as cheap and easy as practical.
All that's left to complete my parts collection are turbo and exhaust.
Everything else, is here or in the pipeline.
Turbo contact expects to hook up with "The Man" next week at Garrett meeting.
Have already had initial briefing by one of the local "highly recommended by more than one source" exhaust guys
I'd be happy if I could pull all this off for about 1/10th the big name prices.....

preference for SOHC over DOHC head swap
Larry-Here`s another possible source for turbo & exhaust AND some of the best advice you`ll EVER get for a street application. He`s the one who did my turbo & exhaust (except for the muffler.) His name is Robert @ www.forcedairtech.com. If nothing else, call him for some heads-up info. Tell him Rod sent you. (sorry for the delay in responding to your message.) Rocket Rod
