Lightened Flywheel

Post by georgerbyrne@yahoo.com »

When i got my flywheel lightened the other day, i discussed the
hardened surface you guys were talking about with him. Apparently the
general reason people machine a flyheel is because there are hard
points on it, so the clutch cannot grip it.
The flywheel is meant to be relatively soft, not hard. So that was
not a problem, reducing the thickness of the flywheel 1.5mm will not
make a noticeable change to the clutches ability to grip either. So i
was given the full go-ahead on lightening.

The result will come out in a week once i recieve my LSD and put
everything back together, but it may be a little hard for me to tell
the difference, due to me changing box ratio's and to AWD.
If the car seems to perform really well, i will fill you all in.
