I just installed a Hallman Pro MBC and it seems like I'm stuck at 5 psi, which I believe is "wastegate pressure". I've only opened up the mbc several turns, since I figured after a few I would've seen an increase in boost by now and since it's not, something is wrong. I capped both ends of the boost solenoid and left the bottom line going into the resonator.
I've already read through the library guide and SubaruNation's post on MBC installs. I attached the MBC side nipple (wastegate) to the wastegate. Attached the MBC end nipple (boost source) to the nipple on the turbo housing, where the stock location was. Reading through the library guide, the following statement makes me believe I've hooked up everything properly, Personally I've found that the intake manifold runner offers a much better boost source for the HBC then the nipple on the turbo housing where the factory had it.
Am I just being too timid with cranking up the MBC or is something not correct?

Not that it's related, but did you cap the vent line (on the resonator box) from the wastegate solenoid?
Assuming you have the ports correct, it sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly. A good thing to have would be a hand held vacuum/pressure pump. This way you could test your MBC and adjust it near where it needs to be out of the car.
They're relatively cheap, and are usually part of a brake bleeding kit/pump. I'd highly recommend one.

umm brain fart. where is that? attached to the wastegate? I didn't change any of the lines going to/from the resonator box.Legacy777 wrote:Not that it's related, but did you cap the vent line (on the resonator box) from the wastegate solenoid?
Sounds like I should crank open the MBC more...Legacy777 wrote:Assuming you have the ports correct, it sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly.

Alright, problem solved. I was being too timid. Cranked it open another 5 turns or so and I finally got some movement on the boost. It gets tighter to turn too, so obviously was really loose.
10psi would probably be the max I should go on a stock setup, 'eh? Yes, I plan on upgrading stuff this summer...
