wrx swap possible

Post by the_watts10 »

ok heres the situation my car is a 94 SS 4eat NA block and SS heads and was wondering if swaping wrx engine would be possible without swapping wiring harness?

or could i do something like wrx or sti block with my heads and intake?

reason
my exhaust valve isnt sealing all the way and i dont wanna put in another NA block in if i have to take it out and rebuild

thanks

i could be wrong guys about the valve need to check it out may just be

exhaust leak because i just noticed that if i put my exhaust back on the

clicking or so called "valve noise" goes away as does the miss idle so it

might just cause im running no exhaust from the downpipe back, just

downpipe so let me drive it for a day or so but still open to suggestions

Totally possible. You just need to swap over the sensors (the SS ones, and possibly the crank gear.

Caveat.... THE INTAKE CAM GEAR NEEDS TO BE 7 TOOTH!!!!!

+1 with DV.

I have a EJ20G from a '95 WRX running off my SS ECU/Sensors.
It runs much better than I thought it would & not too bad for a 4eat car.

The easiest to run would be a EJ20G from 93-96 WRX as everything is basically from the SS anyway (use your old cam & crank sensor on the newer EJ20G long-blocks).
Note: if you get a GC8 motor you will get a TD05-16G turbo, the GF8 motor will have a TD04 on it.

You could also run a EJ20K, or single turbo converted EJ20H/EJ20R off the SS ECU though you may have to swap t-bodys & use one from the SS to get the correct sensors on the motor.
