a few questions I thought of...

Post by f13ndus »

Hey all,

these questions just popped into my head as I was sitting here...

1.) Is my 1994 Legacy L Sedan closed block or open block?

2.) Does anyone know of anyone selling a relatively cheap Turbo
sedan, because I'd REALLY like to get one and be able to give this
car back to my parents (it was theirs first) or sell it...

3.) The new outbacks have a 6 cylinder 3.0L engine, right? How does
that compare to our 2.0/2.2L engines? Is it just like a smaller SVX
engine? And could one fit in a 90-94 Legacy? ;)

Thanks,
Iain

You have an open block. I think there were a very few 89-90 Legacies that had closed block. Then after that, they went open block on them...or at least that's what I have told.

The new H6 in the Outbacks will most likely fit in the early gen legacies. However the electronics are goin to be quite different....plus the fact that it being a brand new engine, finding anything used is going to be very difficult, so for a swap like that....it would be quite spendy.

The main thing the new H6 is going to have over the turbo 2.0 is more lower end torque. I personally would want the 2.0 turbo over the 6. I just like turbo's better, and more hp can be gained easier with the turbo engines then a N/A engine.
