If you want to know if your car is FWD or AWD, just do this simple test. Take the car up to its maximum possible speed, preferably on a wet road, or even an icy one if possible. While traveling at maximum speed, set the handbrake as quickly and firmly as possible. If the car tends to veer slightly to the right, then it is FWD. If it tends to veer slightly to the left, then it is AWD. Let me know how the test workede for you.

FWD or AWD
Yeah, hold on and let me go try it... :-\
Actually, thanks for posting that, it made me laugh. I just hope some
poor sod doesn't go and try it...
I just crawled underneath it and checked, it's a FWD. Oh well, I'll
still drive it until I find a decent car that I like and can
afford... (I did mention this is my parent's car, right? I mean, I
love it and all, but it's still THEIR car and I still need my own...
maybe I can find a nice Subie on eBay or something...)

FWD or AWD
Now that's good thinking!
Now you know what to look for. I was thinking I was in the market for
another Subaru. I was dreaming about a '93 sedan, turbo, sunroof...
mmmmmm.... But this damn Toyota I have refuses to give up the ghost! By the
time it dies a proper death I'll probably have already spent the money on a
house or a Honda Odyssey, or both...
Here's to hoping!
