I'm glad that you brought it up cause I was like...ohhh it goes that way?

I cut my intercooler at the TB connection Side, making it shorter and using a silcone coupler to close the gap. this gave me the room i needed

using the stock y pipe, i would love to see somebody's pics to prove this.
