EJ22T in an Impreza???

Post by TdotSubie »

Ok, I'm not sure if this is the right section, but w/e. So, I am thinking of swapping an EJ22T into my 94 Impreza L, and had a couple of questions. The engine will bolt up directly to the 1.8L manual tranny, right? Will the Turbo Leggy crossmember fit in the Impreza? Thanks in advance for the help.

Use the Impreza flywheel and an appropriate clutch and the EJ22T will bolt to your trans.

The crossmember will bolt in to your car without any problems. You will need to use the Legacy swaybar because a non-turbo swaybar will not fit that crossmember.

It's been done before. I'm actually in the process of doing it right now in my 95 Impreza.

Check out this thread, I've given some advise on the swap in it.
