I will certainly purchase one of those.

Will Revtronix get a representative on the board to keep us updated and provide feedback?

I sent them an email of inquiry, Mike sent me this reply:

"We are currently working on the hardware development of the user-programmable chip. We will release the product once the hardware and programming software are ready. Base maps and additional features such as launch control will probably be added after the initial release once they are ready."

I then asked about a hypothetical timetable, but I'm not sure if they will be able to answer the question. I'm guessing that if this happens, it will be some months or longer.

If this comes through, I will instantly purchase one, and then if I like the setup I will probably get another for my second wiring harness and future 95 Legacy LSi swap, since that car is getting tired.

Lets make sure we maintain an expressed interest in the chips to Revtronix. I emailed them just now to let them know that I am directly interested in their offerings and asked to be put on an email list. I hope it will help to keep them encouraged to expedite the completion of their projects.

Who's going up from Spokane? Can you say or would the board member be willing to speak up, Todd?

I only ask because I'm in CDA and would like a chance to see this TD04 setup w/ chip once it's tuned.

Once I have my new tranny in place it's only a matter of 440/550's and a TD04 before I'm ready to drop in a chip.

Who wants to start this funding for me? ;)

Need 440's and JECS MAF. I'm in Seattle and Vancouver is only a ~130mi drive away.

Jeez, hard to stay out of the radar 'round here!

Due to the decision of Revtronix to focus on the user-tunable chip, I thought I was SoL for my Stage2-TD04 chip.

I emailed Mike and found out they have a 'beta' version of the Stage 2-TD04 chip almost ready.

So, I've offered to test the TD04/TMIC/440cc/JECs MAF/3"TBE setup on mine to finish it up.

I plan on being there by 2/15/09 (or b4) to tune for the 14 and 17 psi option, as well as get on a dyno that they use.

I'll report back here when done.

Todd

Haha, you know the BBS is too small to stay off the radar ;).

Thanks for going up and providing a test bed. I'm really excited to hear how it goes and to see the dyno results. It would be nice ot put some firm numbers to these chips.

Does the the set-up above use stock boost control or MBC?

I have same set up but run a TD-05 16g. For some reason I think I'd like the non programmable chip and just deal with the JECs and not have to get an aftermarket MAF...

Good conservative mid-level performance...

Wonder if I went up there what they could do for me? TD04 / 05 couldn't be that different. Right? Especially if they get my tuning parameters from the PP6 I'm about to get Dom-tuned.

Heck it's better than running waste-gate boost and rich like I am now!

What think?

Not exactly sure what the TD04 model, but this site has a lot of turbo flow maps. A quick comparison of the TD04H-16T vs TD05-16G small, shows that at pressure ratio of 2, the TD05 has an extra ~85 cfm.

Does this help?:

Revtronix's chip uses the stock BCS to work their magic. One issue is the '02-05 (?) TD04 stock wastegate is ~10psi (@ least mine is). This is higher than the stock Boost Control Solenoid's (BCS) 8.7psi. I've ordered a WG from a newer TD04 from nabisco w/the lighter spring to see if it can work w/the stock BCS as is.

Per Mike @ Revtronix:
"We can actually tune your car the way it is, but the same chip wouldn't work for anyone with the lower pressure wastegate. I'm hoping that if you can get yours down below 11psi at least, others with the low pressure wastegate could adjust theirs up to 10-11ish. This way I only need one chip to cover all TD04's and nobody would have to do a wastegate swap. If not, I'll guess we'll just do one chip for the higher boost wastegate you have."
