Came across this when looking for a 5sp. Thought it may be of use for you guys even for parts or the engine.

You buy. You clean up and make run smooth. You sell for 3X the money. You keep on searching for 5spd ss. Go!

Hmm good point. It's 4-1/2 hours from me though :/

Where is the best place to look for the SS's? Am I missing anything beside LC, SL-i, Nasioc, and Craigslist?

Craigslist is pretty much the only place I've been able to find them. It's the only place I bother looking now too. For anything. Occasionally if there's a part I need I might check ebay but for cars, craigslist is where it's at.

I'd drive 4 and a half hours to get a car that cheap if I knew it would make it back.

If you have the money than you should get the car. I have 2 friends that both drove over 6hrs to get there SS's and it was worth it.

And they both found theres on craigslist as well.

When's the next time you're gonna find one of these cars this cheap? With a straight body in decent condition? It took me many months to find mine. And it was $2,500....I paid too much for it but I let my impulse buying get the better of me and I had been waiting for so long to get one.

Even if it's not a great car, you could part it out and sell the car and make up your loss easily.
