800cc injectors - too much?

Post by Jutboy »

It looks like I'm going to be starting my EJ22T build really soon. I've got a set of nismo injectors 800c that I picked up really cheap a while ago.

Does anyone anticipate any problems running them?

Umm without EM, yes. The largest sized injector you can run on the stock ECU is 440cc.

I was planning on getting a piggy back system...

I should probably mention I am going to use 2.5 heads/intake (DOHC) and I've got a vf23.

I also am interested in any information on how to choose the proper size fuel pump. If anyone has any guidance I would appreciate it.

Currently running 800cc on 1990 ECU with PP6 piggyback. Idles just fine, starts just fine. Using Walbro 255 pump.

While your 480's might "work", it's very far from ideal. I bet you're super rich / rough idle. During WOT, you're dumping fuel and once again running rich which hiders performance. Until you get a wideband, you really have no idea...

Plus, didn't you have to add an extra hole in your intake piping so it would suck it more air and not cause it to run so rich? Or was that just an idea you had?
