I am surprised no one noticed that Taste of Tacoma is the same time/same place.

We may have an issue here.

What issues do you forsee? Do a lot of people take those picnic areas during The Taste?

no issue, i was just there on thursday, you just cant go in the main entrance since that is where the taste of tacoma is, you have to go toward the ferry dock and cut back onto the five mile drive (there is signs for it)

spencer, you're a big boat full of failure

So basically just keep following Pearl St. until it takes you to the ferry dock? Do they make you drive on that little road along the water that takes you to Owens Beach after that?

i don't know too much about the 5 mile drive, does this mean the location of our meet is changing because of the taste thing? or will it still be the same?

It'll still be the same. If Jake can confirm that I'm thinking of the correct way to get in, then I'll post up a map with the route highlighted.

Ok. So the red X is the main entrance that's going to be used for hosting the Taste of Tacoma. Don't go in that way.

The blue route I made is what I believe Jake was planning for getting into the park. Basically it's a matter of getting on Pearl St. and following it all the way to the fairy docks. It should work, I may even take a drive around there today just to be sure.

I also highlighted another route in yellow. It's sort of a 'back roads' way of getting into the park. If you know how to go that way, I would suggest it as to avoid all the traffic that will be on Pearl St.

The red arrow is where you want to go. Don't take any of the cutoff roads, stay on the 5-Mile Drive. Someone gets lost or goes the wrong way every time. I know I did last year haha.

Thanks for the map. That will make it much easier.
Not sure what I'm bringing. I'll hit a grocery store on the way and see what looks appealing.

Just an update, I went down there to see how bad it was. You may want to leave about 15 minutes earlier than you were planning, the traffic is pretty much stop and go once you hit 35th and Pearl.
