Power Door Locks

I ahev a wierd issue here too. Sometimes, the power locks work, other times
they don't. They always close from the outside key. However, if you unlock
them from the isude (driver's door), only sometimes do the other doors open
too.

When they get "stuck", the drivers key gets very ahrd to turn from the
outside, but it does go...never to the point of bending the key, but feels
not quite right non-the less....

Could this clip be my issue too? Where to look?

I agree with Josh. I had the same type of weird problems with my 90
LS, and when I fixed both doors clips (both of my plastic clips were
broken/gone) all of the problems went away. I did it almost a year
ago and they're still working.

Hmm.....not sure, it's possible, the linkage may be sticking inside the
doors. May want to try sprayin some lube or something on the metal
linkage.

Ok who can tell me how to do this and what I would need.

I have a 91 legacy with those halfway power door locks. when you press
it all the way it all locks and so on. I also have an actuator that was
installed for the alarm. Now I want to install 1 switch somewhere so
that I can have real power door locks. I was having a problem with the
actuator making it really hard to lock the driver door manually. I
actually broke something back there tonight when I tried to lock it
manually. now the lock just goes back in forth and doesn't do a thing..
The door and alarm locks still works fine. so what do I need? Just a
switch? Relay? Can anyone give me a drawing?

It's prob the spring pushing on the back of the door lock
knob.......have you taken off the door panel to get a closer look??

Do you know how I would go about hooking up a switch for a power door
lock... once I go in I'd figure I'll just go all the way...

Well on the first gen legacies.....the only way to get a keyless entry
system to unlock/lock the doors is to install an actuator that ties to
the lock/unlock rod, and the actuator will serve as your
electro/mechanical device.

It's not super difficult to do.....but I don't know how it was setup
before. The actuators should be around 20 bucks.

Actuator is already installed and working... I would just like to hook
it up to a switch of some sort. But would I need a relay for this? The
actuator only has 2 wires coming off if it (I think) anyone know the
easiest way to do this?

Or would I just need a switch... it's been a while... Momentary Double
throw single poll switch?

I don't think the actuator is sucking a lot of juice, so you could probably just connect the switch directly to the actuator. hmmmm...just got to thinking......2 wires that's it? If there's only two wires then you would need some sort of relay or something. Because if you apply 12v constant and neg. ground in one way, the actuator will extend. If you apply the 12v constant and neg reversely, the actuator should retract. Most actuators don't retract by themselves.

I am really a little confused at how that would work with only two wires......I would think you would need at least three wires.......but I could be wrong......anyone else have any ideas?
