What did you do to your Subie today?

Day 1: Purchased a 1994 Subaru Legacy for 600$ from a pawn shop. Discovered love letters in the glove box. Turns out the former owner's boyfriend had just went to prison. I guess this car has some 'history'. 223000 miles of it, anyway.
Then I (NOT in chronological order)...
*Took off, put back on, took off, dissasembled, reassembled(the wrong way), put back on, took off, dissasembled, reassembled(the right way) and put back on my power steering pump.
*Took off the emergency spare, plugged up the original in the trunk and put it back on.
*Got a nice deal at Autozone for 5qt of synth blend, good fram filter and plugs for lil less then 30$. Came home, changed the oil, changed the filter, changed the plugs, checked the wires. Drained the trans fluid pan, filled it with new fluid. May have overfilled it a lil.
*Did the power mode mod, installed a switch and got it all working.
*Cut out the accordion tube from my intake and replaced it with a straight metal tube. (Which was a retarded thing to do and now I need to buy a whole new set of intake piping, prolly will get the pretty silicone stuff from Siliconeintakes.com.)
*Ripped out the rear deck upholstery, made the 6 1/2 speakers holes bigger, placed a white melamine board on top of the deck metal with 6x9 holes cut out for my infinitys.
*Painted the steel 14" wheels gloss black, then put chrome walmart hubcaps on it. Rubbed plastic polish into all the paneling and the tire sidewalls.
Finally, yesterday, I drove it up to autozone to buy the correct size belt (the alternator belt that came with the car was the incorrect size, much too small.) Today I drove it and bought some crap to pour into the transmission.

Reinstalled the rear deck cover and rear seatbacks that the dealer installed incorrectly when replacing my struts.
It's really sad that they couldn't figure out how to put together interior bits, and it has me wondering just how well everything was bolted up when my new control arm and struts went in...

did most of the face-lift on the 91 except the fenders and corner markers, replace pass side valve cover gasket and found this
then when i finally got everything back together realized that my low beams looks like candle light and my highest look like lows!!!
also driving home i realized that after removing the snorkel during the face lift i somehow mow build enough boost to hit the fuel cut out under heavy load!
so yeah it was a mixed bag of goodies today

Had a dream where I was driving it. Started right up and drove after 4 years without a problem, though I still hadn't finished the bodywork. Then i woke up and had to drive the damn Mazda.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

lol! That's awesome. Well the dream, not the mazda part. Unless it was 93 RX7.evolutionmovement wrote:Had a dream where I was driving it. Started right up and drove after 4 years without a problem, though I still hadn't finished the bodywork. Then i woke up and had to drive the damn Mazda.
I had a dream several months ago that someone stole my subaru from my parents garage. Before I even got it running! I was devastated. It was one of those dreams where you wake up and you don't know if it really happened or you just dreamed it. Terrible dream.
