i have a mirror switch with the heated button from a usdm alpine.
i also have a jdm mirror switch with the folding button.

compared to my stock switch the jdm uses the same harness plug, the alpine sport does not

I'd be pretty hesitant to do a conversion with some shaky early 90's technology that uses vacuum lines and is rare to begin with. an electronic HVAC unit is complicated enough as it is. there are actually 3 or more different BC HVAC units, I bought 2 that werent the same as mine before I got the right one.
Personally....I wouldn't mess with it. There's too much stuff to go wrong and additional sensors you need. they're rather rare....and I can't see it being worth it for the novelty of having auto climate control.

That's just my opinion though.

I don't think they were a full auto climate control like the ones found on the higher end legacies here in the states.
Are you talking about the one I posted or the one MikeyMeyagi posted??

Just a update. still havent found a auto climate but.

I found a heated mirror switch with the heated mirrors today!!
subaru_styles is right though about the harneses being different though

BUT the BIG thing I found today was heated seats!! Factory baby!! pulled the floor harness and heating elements out of the seats for a later date, Switches too!!

So heated seats and heated mirrors were a option here in the states

I have auto climate just like tahiti350 in my girlfriends '90 LS. I thought it was cool as hell at first, but now I despise it. It goes up to 85* and it'll cook you out temperature wise, but if you turn it down a degree it's too cold. Also, the fan doesn't blow nearly as well on high as my regular HVACs. I've gone through everything trying to get more out of it, too. Also, if something goes out like the main controller it would be expensive as hell to fix/replace. I definitely would steer clear of these to swap in just for the "cool" factor.
