anyone ever replace the duty c solenoid? is it hard to find and replace? i'm really not looking forward to this but it needs done. the car will go from the 90/10 split to the 50/50... but then it seems it won't go back until i restart the car. grrr.... the TCU says it's bad so i'm going to replace it and see what happens. can anyone give me any tips?

thanks,

Do you already have the replacement part? I have an extra transmission I could try to remove it from if you want.

no, i don't have the part yet. if you could look and see where it is and how hard it is to get to i'd appreciate that. if it's easy to replace, i'll buy it off you; otherwise i'll just take it to a shop. :)

You have to remove the the center diff from the tranny. Then its two bolts that hold the solenoid and one bolt that holds a pipe to it. Underneath there are a couple swiss cheese like plates.

I dont know how to check if its still good or not. The tranny was removed from the car because the front brake band came disconnected from the tensioner bolt so 2nd and fourth would not engage. The rear wheels did have power delivered to them so unless something was damaged while it has been sitting you shouldnt have any problems.
