I have a quick question... apart from modifying intake plumbing, will the exhaust side of my '91 legacy turbo bolt up to a new wrx turbo (header, downpipe)?

Thanks,

Matt

Yes - unless you have a downpipe which has a splitter, which separates the wastegate gases from the main turbine exhaust, like the MRT jobs. The length of the splitter may give you some probs depending on what turbo you're changing to.

Yeah I believe the exhaust side will work just fine.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was the winner of an ebay auction and purchased a 2002 wrx turbo for $172.50. I am currently rebuilding my 2.2 Turbo engine and didn't want to go with the stock turbo. I now need to squeeze a front mount intercoler in front somewhere....

I would recommend the Water/Air top mount intercooler (more efficient).
Alot less hassle in the piping department. $0.02

I had a set of 02 WRX header and downpipe in my company and I found
out it won't fits to my 92 Legacy turbo since some bending a little
bit different and also sure the header won't fits on the car, so you
better make sure before you install to your car!!

Thanks I'll check it out. I think the bolt pattern is the same but the exhaust pipes themselves are not the right bend angles and lengths. I am only installing the turbo unit and will use my original up and downpipes.
