Drive shaft compatibilty.
Does anybody know if newer 5mt driveshafts will fit our cars?

95 and up to 2000 I guess, doubtful I'll find anything newer in a yard.

yeah, the flange on the diff may be different tho, but the shaft will work

nope, center bearing is the same location.

Just looked up wheel bases for our cars and newer legacy models. Ours are 101.6 inches, newer gen 2 legacies are 103.5, gen 3 are 104.3.
While wheelbase doesn't dictate how far apart the trans and rear diff are, it's likely a decent indicator.
