2wd trans problem

Post by justin the subie »

so aperently i messed up the trans pump when i installed a new motor... the engine runs great but the trans will no longer go in gear..
options i have at the moment are,

Swapping over to 4wd Auto,

or a Turbo 4wd Auto,

or taking the trans apart and fixing the pump..

any advise for the best fix is greatly aprecated :smt033

Well, the AWD transmissions are not going to work on a FWD car. So depending on what broke, you may be better fixing your trans, or trying to find another one.

Wait....are you looking to do an AWD conversion? If so, then yes you can use the AWD transmission. You didn't elaborate you were planning on doing an AWD swap.

oh i see.. lol ive got everything to do the swap.. just dont know if the plugs on the trans wires are the same.. ive done a auto to manual swap before but not a 2wd Auto to 4wd Auto swap... hoping to find out all the details before i get too excited..

my best trans i have is the turbo Auto.. would that work or would i have to do a whole wire harness?

thanks for the help guys! :smt033

There should be no difference in electrical connector plugs between the FWD & AWD AT transmissions.
