hello to all out there, im not that new to subies but i just found this site, so any ways i am the owner of a 1995 legacy L FWD w/135k i bought the car for $420 in sept of last year and it made me fall in love with subarus. i now own a 2002 forester s aswell, now i have a question, i heard that the 2.2 motor that is in my legacy is a non interference motor is that true? also anything that i should know about the car?

In 1995, the 2.2 motor was still non interference. It was redesigned and became interference in the late 90s.

About your Legacy, I think that was the last year of FWD as an option, and an ultra-rare option for the auto/FWD's was traction control, although I've never seen one.

You have different airbags & electrical connectors than other years, and some 95's were OBD-1. You could have either 2-port or 1-port exhaust manifold.

The 1-piece headlights are terrible, so if you get the opportunity to grab some 98-99 headlights, they are a HUGE upgrade.

There's lots of little differences between the 95-96's and the 97+ Legacys, but it's still a pretty solid car. I have a 96 and have had that longer than I've owned any other car.

cool i did not now most of that, the body in mine is starting to rot the mechanic that did the inspection told me that i had maby 2 more years on the frame but it that happens i think im going to take the motor out and keep that w/ the trani to put in something else, by the way how hard is it to turbo that motor? oh and mine is odb2,
