Post by stef1825 »

Hi,
Does anyone know if a jdm ej22 crank fit in a ej22t?

I know the thrust is located on the #3 also ....

Thx

I didn't think they sold a 2.2 in Japan, but I would seriously doubt there's a difference. I can't see a difference between the turbo and N/A cranks.

If it's really the 22b crank then it's phase 2 with a different thrust bearing location from the ej22t.

So it's an aftermarket crank. You'll have to ask them if it's phase I or Phase II, or possibly machined for both. If it's phase I or both, then it'll work. To be honest, though, the ej22T crank is forged, and is strong enough for all but the highest HP builds. And the dealer still stocks them.

Part # 12200AA150 (which is the same part # for both EJ22 turbo and n/a)

Yeah, the bottom end parts of both USDMs are forged—cranks and rods. Buying N/A EJ22 might be cheaper, too.
