subarugenuineparts.com is where i get all of my OEM parts.

a new sti block is more expensive than a new 22t block. do you want the 257 to make more power? if you are after power then you need to look at new heads, not a new block. 22t block with rs heads is good. 257 with 22t heads is not going to be much different than stock. just more expensive.

and stay away from used ej257 bocks. they are nothing but headaches.

well thanks for the advise man...that really helps

do they sell whole short blocks??

will my intake work with 2.5rs heads??

will standard 2.5 heads work as well or does it have to be rs?

anything you can tell me would be appreciated!!

thanks -dan

Josh,
I'd like to know where you are still finding new Ej22T shortblocks. I am pretty sure there's none left in Colorado that are under $2000.

Beyond that, you can absolutely bolt up an Ej257 block to your Ej22T heads. It's been done. Just be sure to use the thicker phase I HG's because if you don't your CR is going to be kind of high and your car will be subject to detonation...

if your going to go through all that trouble, you might as well ditch the sohc heads for some ej25d dohc ones. they flow exponentially more.
