Are you asking whether it will raise the exhaust up towards the body?

If so, no I don't believe it will do that. The "shorty" refers to the length.

I wouldn't think the down pipe should be different heights between the impreza & our legacies, but it could be.

How much does the down pipe hang down? Any chance you could take a picture?

Hmm, then it sounds like something may not be right with the downpipe you have. What downpipe do you currently have?

Does your down pipe still bolt to the hanger on the rear of the transmission?

I believe the 08+ wrx turbos have different flanges (same type as 05+ legacy gt).

Someone tried the 08+ DP, it requires some light modding to work.

The 02-07 WRX down pipe is the right fitment. Its hard to tell from the pic how badly yours in hanging down, but its possible that brand just hangs a tad lower than others. I asked about the rear hanger, because if that's not connected it could potentially cause the exhaust system to pull down on the down pipe and make it hang lower than intended.

^ And can crack the uppipe, and put stress on the brackets that hold the uppipe to the passenger head.
