JDM parts supplier

Post by wtdash »

Hi,
Searched on here but most of the JDM parts threads seem old...like 2006 old.

I'm specifically looking for 2002-2005 WRX parts. There are a LOT of engines and transmissions listed on ebay, but few if any ECUs or other electrical or mechanical parts...which makes no sense to me...What did they do w/them after pulling the engine, eh? I've messaged the Sellers on ebay and they're either clueless or it's an f'ing secret why they don't have or can't get parts.

I've read Japan has 'different' laws about their older cars (they get more $$ to license as they age), which means they should have LOTS of used parts, but maybe they scrap most of them???

JC777 suggested this, but haven't had much luck yet:
Probably your best option to get used parts is the online Japanese auction sites based on talking with folks that have imported/bought parts. I wish I had some better suggestions for you, but I really haven’t messed with getting parts from Japan.

I’d start and see if you can find any Japan auctions. You may also want to try seeing if you can find any members in Japan from the various Subaru forums and facebook groups and ask them if they have any suggestions
thanks
Td

Hi,
JDM ECUs....and maybe TCU/TCMs. Many of the ebay engines don't come w/the necessary ECU to run the engine 'as is' - specifically to run the AVCS cams. IA Performance makes an AVCS harness so it's 'mostly' plug-n-play....w/the JDM ECU.

And certain models of the JDM 4EATs supported a 'Power' mode switch AND the Sport Shift option that I'd like to get my hands on, which the TCU should support - (although the Sport Shift is actually a different transmission than mine- so not likely). I think I have the TCU IO diagram to wire it in.

Thanks

I need to know which specific Jdm car that you need these items from. Most of the auctions are broken down
By chassis code and engine/transmission.

Shoot me a pm with the answers
