OK, that makes sense. If its a phase 1, its still $355 cheaper than rallispec, although its not clear if its the same exact product. And its a little iffy ordering something that expensive from Japan.

But still really tempting...

What happened to the pics?

I was planning on doing this job to my Fozzy soon and would like the reference.

It appears imageshack does not like hot-linking any more. If you quote the first post, copy all the picture url's and paste them in a new browser window I think the majority of them will be displayed.

I can try and rehost the ones that work.

Ok, I've fixed most of the pictures and files and rehosted them on my server. There were however 3 images I couldn't get, so if someone happens to have this thread backed up locally and has those pictures let me know so I can host and fix the original links.

Nice job Josh.

I already did my bearing job and I saw some obvious differences in phase 1 vs phase 2. One thing that kind of worried me when I saw the rear plate with both gears in it. Since that was a phase 1 trans in the pic I can safely say that the gears aren't supposed to be meshed flat across, the drive gear is obviously thicker and therefore will not end up flat across the gears. I swear on mine that we had to press in the drive gear and when it stopped my gears were flat across. I have to take it back apart soon to replace the shift arm. If my phase 2 version isn't supposed to be flat across I can fix that if I find out before I get the replacement arm.

I still have the old broken ones for reference so I'll go check those out tomorrow. I had a funny feeling that the spline end of the drive gear was sticking a tad too far out the end. I hope I'm wrong and don't have to press it back out some.

Any ideas?

I went back and looked at the broken gears I have and both of them are the same thickness. I feel better now about my setup.
I still wish I would have taken pics of this stuff. *facepalm*
