Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Nah they are aftermarket variants. They are more red in real life. I will let you guys know how they are once I actually drive the car, which brings me to my next point.
I bought this complete 02 WRX Wagon with 108k miles and rusted strut towers for cheap. I am using the motor and harness out of the car and FINALLY having iWire create a merged harness for me. Super stoked.
The rest of the car is pretty mint, and ill be using a few other things for the Legacy. It also has a Cobb exhaust on it, so that may go on there too. The rest is up for grabs!

Is it possible to fit the rear spoiler on my 92 touring wagon?

Nice on the wrx heart. How much is iwire charging you? Are they making you run a haltech ecu or allowing the merge to happen with the stock one?

The motor is out of the WRX!
Going to be doing timing belt, water pump, and your basic tuneup stuff. Anything else I should take care of before it goes into the car?

Valve cover gaskets, spark plugs. Maybe the fuel line recall under the manifold. Check the oil cooler gasket to see if it's leaking. Reseal the oil pan. Take off the green brackets of death.

-cyl4 cooling mod
-255/257 oil pan/dipstick with a killerb pickup/baffle
-depending on the gauges youll be running Id put a bung on said oil pan so you can run a temp sensor in it without having to worry about a sandwich leaking or having to deal with a temp sensor in the OEM oil drain plug adapter. That way you can run a magnetic drain plug
-maybe reroute the harness to go under the turbo inlet to clean it up.
-an aftermarket inlet
-better oil lines (braided). Ie oil drain, oil feed
-IAG or LIC alum "1/2 moon" cam plugs. Replace those when you do the VC gaskets
-intake manifold spacers
All those will keep the engine oiled nicely, cooled nicely and replace pita components that fail regularly. GL. Looking forward to seeing it in the postal. Maybe get the manifold powdered while its out if you go that route.

You may want to look at the rear main seal and possibly the oil separator plate.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Well, its been forever and ever, but still basically at the same spot I was at. The car went to a shop to get some things done, and long story short they did nothing but made it worse.
Currently I am having a strange issue:
The car will not start no matter how many times I crank it, no matter the battery. However, if I push it a little and pop start it the engine fires right up and runs fine. Turn the key off, and back to same endless cranking issue.
Any ideas?

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
That sounds a lot like an issue I had with my old 94 Honda Accord. Randomly and frequently wouldn't fire up no matter how much I cranked it. I even kick-started it at work one day and it ran just fine on the way home. Ended up being the fuel pump relay (or maybe some fuel pump controller box, it was seven years ago). There was a little printed PCB on it with broken solder joints. Added some solder and it ran perfectly afterwards.
I'm not very familiar with Legacy's yet though, so I dunno if they have something similar, but I'd go over the fuel pump circuit. Just picked up a '92 postal wagon two weeks ago.

Joe,
Other thing you should check is whether the starter circuit is sending a signal to the ECU. There is a specific input on the ECU for the starter cranking. If for some reason it's not seeing that, maybe that could be contributing to your issues.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Update:
Found the ignition fuse to be blown, replaced and car still wouldn't start. The following day I went through the fuses again, and the ignition fuse was once again blown, I replaced and checked power going to MAF and Ignitor, good to go. Car still wouldn't start. Replaced the battery (again) and the car fired right up. It would only stay running if I kept giving it gas.
At least it started!

Do you think your battery was bad and causing the fuse to blow?

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Could be. But the battery I replaced was new. Also, it wouldn’t stay running because a vacuum hose wasn’t connected.
Runs well now, I even drove it like 50 miles the other day. Still having intermittent power issues. Seems like a ground is coming loose or something while driving. Also it still won’t charge. I must have the alternator hooked up wrong still.

I'd definitely check/confirm the alternator is hooked up and charging properly.
Can you describe the intermittent power issues a little more and the specific symptoms?

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Still having alternator issues, still ignoring them.
A friend gave me some JDM STI rear seats, so I put them in. The bottom fits great, but there is nowhere for the top of the seat back to latch to, leaving a gap on the side/top. Going to fab up a piece of metal to affix the latches to.
Also grabbed some front seats, but need to get some rails before I can install. They are dusty from sitting, but in 10/10 condition:
