It'd be cool to have a selective photon barrier.
A friend and I thought up a scheme to reduce glare from 'murrican headlights:
A layer of arrayed liquid crystal (a la LCD) in the windshield glass, with photodetectors either in the same array or in a similar pattern in another location such that the image can be reprojected onto the windshield's surface. A set of cameras mounted on the headliner monitor the drivers' eyes to determine where they're pointed (and maybe the driver wears a pair of glasses with marks on them to help). Then when something really bright tries to shine through the windshield, the windshield can automatically darken in the area through which the light would shine to the driver's eyes!

you could also have the image projected onto the glasses. Or one of those "super 3-d real live action" goggle units

Yeah, but that would require a pair of really expensive glasses that fit every driver comfortably, and it'd be harder to keep the glasses from being bulky.
Hehehe... I'm talking as if this was feasible to begin with.

haha, you press a button, the trunk pops, and the floor of it spring boards up to about 90 degrees, then returns and the trunk closes again
