I was wondering if it was possible to get the steering column to lock in a slightly higher position. I noticed it works fine when pulled up, but only locks when all the way down.
I'm about 6'4" tall an these little japanese cars are designed just a tad on the small side for me.
I can't see my bright light indicators or my CEL and some other idiot lights while I'm driving unless I crouch my neck down to look.
I know, it sounds either hard to do or possibly somehow dangerous... just asking.. lol
P.S.: No airbags in my ride BTW.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean... are you aware that there are two controls for the steering column height?
The latch on the side just allows the wheel to spring to its highest position to make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle. The handle on the bottom allows you to adjust the static height of the wheel.
Are you using the handle on the bottom?

Funny You should ask... I have known about that since day 1 of ownership.. I wondered what it was, and looked it up in the manual.
BUT just yesterday AM, I had my dash apart while fixing some burned out bulbs in my guage cluster...(missed one too... dammit)
and I accidentally flipped the switch while putting it back together.
Of course I didn't notice, and killed my battery by the time I went to leave in the evening
DERP!

One time I parked next to a BF in a parking lot and it had its parking lights on. I wrote a note explaining what to do and left it under the windshield wiper. When I came back to my car, the wagon was gone, but there was a note under my windshield thanking me -- he had made a habit of pulling the fuse every time he parked for more than half an hour!

Yea, I didn't know about the far bottom switch either. I drove around very uncomfortably for about the first week of ownership, then someone (I think Steve) mentioned the second latch. Doh!
I have known about the top of column switch since my mom had a 92 Touring Wagon. When I got the 95, she reminded me about the switch. When I got the 94, she informed me of the 1/2 key turn deal. I never knew that turning the key slightly unlocked JUST the drivers door.
You'd be surprised how many BC's are left unlocked because people don't know about the locking method.
that half turn thing only works sometimes for me. but i think i turn it just a lil too much . Sometimes the front pass side will unlock half way, just enough so that you cant push it to lock it, and hte door will open, you have to push the button on that door only to unlock it first. then you can relock it. it sucks balls, so now I just unlock all doors now.
