timing marks on the crankcase for tdc

On the crankcase sprocket for tdc. My Chilton's manual shows a pitcure of the 2.2l with the indent on the back pin of the sprocket lining up w the mark on the block. But then my harmonic balance indent points to the bottom of the engine (not the 0 matk on the plastic cover). When I use the triangle mark on the crankcase sprocket everything lines up. The triangle mark is on the front side of the sprocket.

hAS ANYONE ENCOUTER THIS WHEN REPLACING THE TIMING BELT?

You don't need to worry about TDC'ing when replacing the timing belt. Just line everything up relative to everything else:
