those you have installed the stock JDM AWIC, how much did your boost level drop. ie, you are running X amount of boost and the you install the AWIC and now you are running Y amount of boost.

I ask this becuase I seem to have lost over 5 psi of boost and while some of this may be due to the cooling affect of the AWIC, a 50% drop to me is highly unexceptable because I cant just turn up the boost like you turbo kiddos. I WANT 200 chp, but I am only getting 160ish chp because of the restriction I think. I don't want to go FMIC, but I may have to.

I don't think you can compare numbers with someone who used a turbo. Turbocharger setups maintain a relatively constant compressor outlet pressure, whereas your positive displacement supercharger doesn't.

The air/water intercooler is the least restrictive intercooler Subaru's ever made. The 15-channel Saab intercooler I have drops stock 8.7 psi down to around 6 or 7 psi. So I'd wildly guess that the AWIC on an otherwise stock Legacy Turbo would probably drop less than 1 psi.

It must be the piping resizing then, and addition of all the new bends, compared to single huge pipe with one u bend.

thanks.

Yeah, maybe it is. If any pipes were welded together, have you looked through the insides to make sure there aren't any jags or anything?

Well I would have done that when I installed mine but I changed the compressor on the turbo at the same time. Your best bet is to hook up the boost gauge before the IC and see what you have there.
The AWIC is trashed a lot by people who don't know anything about it, someone over at nasioc says "it's too small, it can't flow" and now it's a FACT.
