"they have a cup/spacer on the bottom of them whereas the GC do not"
I asked if the bolt spacing was the same, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I think it just must be the spacing, and the part number difference for the GC/GD has to do with the front spring rates being different, more than the rear mounts being different. I'd like to really know though. I need some definate answers ASAP.
you'll need tophats as the wrx bolt spacing is different, also beware that the rear suspension of the GD WRX is taller (ie' the strut body is longer) than that of our legacy and the GC imprezas. You can get around this since the coilovers are height adjustable, but if the height isn't adjusted seperately from the spring pre-load it may be a PITA... coilovers like JIC FLT2a (or something like that name) have independant height and spring preload perches

Taller strut would mean that you need to adjust it lower to get the correct ride height for the car... I'm curious if you'll be adjusting it too low; ie, you'll be going lower then the working range of the strut.
It shouldn't be a problem. The GD struts aren't significantly longer, and I'm not trying to slam the car. I'll be within the range of adjustment. I want the rear to stay at the height it's at right now, and if my buddy could tuck tire on his WRX then I'm sure I can get the height I desire without any ill effects.
Jason - If they don't work out, I'll sell them and pick up your setup if it's still available.
Edit: can someone measure their strut. From the top hat base to the bottom of the strut. I'd like to compare to stock without ripping apart my suspension first.
