Chassis code wrong?

I've noticed that every 90-94 wagon I see has the code BJ6 except for the raised roof ones, which have the BF6 code. The overseas wagons all have BF5, but they're all raised roof also. Does anyone with a NON raised roof wagon have BF6 in their VIN?

You may be wondering, why the hell would anyone care... Well, I don't know. I just noticed this and its bothering me now...lol

Touring wagons dont have a raised roof. GT wagons do.

The GT wagon is a Touring Wagon. Believe me, I got owned by a subaru genius. Touring Wagons are wagons with raised roofs. My car=misbadged

The GT wagon is an L wagon with an option kit and a different chassis. The Turbo wagon is a Touring wagon. How did FHI misbadge you car?

the turbo wagon is NOT a touring wagon. Touring wagons are simply wagons with raised roofs. Ask your parts department pro, or old subaru enthusiast

I'm confused. The GT wagon has the raised roof, side skirts, and special alloys. There's a dark blue one a few blocks away from me.

What is the turbo wagon then? And how did FHI misbadge you car? I understand the older subarus, loyales and whatnot, were called touring wagons if they had the raised roof chassis but these aren't loyales. SOA and FHI refer to the turbo legacy wagon as a Touring wagon. I just dont understand what you mean when you say the company that created your car misbadged it. How can you misbadge something that you create? Sure you can call it something other than what in another condition it should have been but that's not misbadging. They specifically put badges on your car stating it is a Touring Wagon. But honestly this is all too much be getting riled up about. The point is unraised roof first gen leg wagons are bj's and raised roof first gen leg wagons are bf's.

The turbo wagon is not built in a touring wagon chassis. Go ahead and run through the years, every raised roof legacy is technically a touring wagon. A subaru parts pro, who's been working at subaru dealerships since before I was born plugged my VIN into his handy dandy computer that tells you everything about cars, and proved me wrong. Believe me, I didn't want to believe that it wasnt a touring wagon

Okay, I think I just realized why they're called Touring Wagons.... All of the turbo wagons overseas are raised roof.... Hence the Touring wagon name migrating over to the US. The badges on my car as far as I know were dealer-installed, and Carter isn't known for their taste in dealer appearance packages

GT Wagon = Grand Touring Wagon

BUT.

The GT denotation belongs on all raised roof wagons. That's a true statement. A raised roof wagon is also known as a touring wagon. Grand Touring Wagon.

The USDM Turbo wagon shows up as something like Legacy Station Wagon W/ Turbo. But all FHI Literature shows it as being the Touring Wagon.

Both are, technically, Touring Wagons.
