EJ20G's have actually been proven to be a bit more resistant to block walking at high stress levels Nico...so I wouldn't call them junk, especially a motor as exclusive as a Legacy RS-RA EJ20G
Glad to hear your decision Steve!

Meh, 18 psi is kids stuff... but I still wont walk over 1L+ bikes on a straight stretch, thats just arrogant to think that.NICO I WRX U wrote:put the ej22t in there with the dohc heads, screw that ej20g junk.
low compression!! man my shit is so fast it amazing, wiat till i run 18psi with a autronic, 1100 1200 1300 1400 1500 sport bikes will be scared of the little white subaru.

Im not a fan of 2 wheeled motorized vehicles. Plus, I bet my 40hp go kart could hang with a 1k bike
Up until about 130 mph anyway....
But then the 65 hp kart I built and just sold would have destroyed a busa if I wasnt so afraid to drive it....

well this monday i get my autronic and if i can walk all over stis at 12psi could you imagin what 18psi is going to do. zero to 120kms there is no bike that can beat me, once with a little NOS he got the upper hand.
anyways back to the motor splinter, stick the ej22t in it becuse thats right the RSA ASR SRA CIA FBI ej20g is JUNK!!!
closed deck, oil squirts, .2L more, dam best crank an rods subaru has ever made from the factory that can handle a shit load of power ware tare. the baddest subaru rally car used .2L more 22B + even that one didnt have oil squirts. subaru gave north america the gift of the best block ever made for the long roads and abuse to make a car that would last need i say more.
i cant belive i am trying to sell you on a ej22t block over a rsa sra ras what ever the stupid ej20g block is called.

My EJ20G is closed deck, has oil squiters, has the same crank and rods as the EJ22T... it also has 8.7:1 compression, the EJ22T would give me 7.3:1
The RS-RA block is the best block subaru ever made, theres less than 800 in exsistance, its not a regular EJ20G block

shit not bad so i geuss its a ej22t but they siad bore it out .2l more for the north americans becuse our roads are longer bigger, hows that saying go displacment something something.
haveing low compression is not a bad thing in turbo cars its a good thing, everyone told me this and that then i took them for a ride and not a peep out there mouth cuz my car was just insane animal.
i raced all kinds of crazy subarus with turbos the size of a watermelon make all kinds of XXXXX HP and they cant belive what my car would do.
but it is up to you.

The RS-RA is not the best engine subaru ever made. Hell it's not even the best turbo engine put in a legacy (unless you're counting only first gen, then yes it is). It was damn good at the time when there were only two other turbo motors available, but no way is it the best engine. Just because the block is closed and has oil squirters doesn't make it the best engine. It did have HLA's if you remember. And an old design of HLA's at that. A small turbo too.

Yes you can.Splinter wrote:Can I use EJ205/EJ257 COPs with these heads?
I dont really want to try and track down EJ20G coils or switch to a coilpack at this stage in the game...
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1192028
And if you don't want to go that route, let me know. I've got a set of early coils(without any cracks in the tips) that I could send you...
As for the rest, I have just learned to tune out Nico and his claims...

A wise man. I am doing the same thing when I swtich mine over. At first I am going to run it on the stock ECU and switch it later. But then I am going to have like 50% less power than you will and all the other things that go with tuning that won't be issues for me. DD build FTW.Splinter wrote:If the EJ205 coils work, I think Id rather go that route so I dont have to deal with the ignitor

I think you established that...and I think Steve established that he is going to use the two liter...NICO I WRX U wrote:

I'm glad you stuck with the 2-liter. It's a better motor with the right heads.
