Nickelback - Savin' Me

Steve, continuing on our David Lynch movies discussion...

I renewed my Blockbuster Rewards membership crap, and when I did, I got one free older movie rental with a new one. So I rented 300 and inquired about Blue Velvet, and they had it! I went home with the intentions of watching them both tonight, as I'm trying to get as much 'me' time in as possible before my schoolwork gets the best of me.

Anyway, I watched 300, and it was really good, and then put Blue Velvet in. I start watching it and already start noticing the David Lynch characteristics (he seems to like dimly-lit sets in many of his scenes, the interaction between the characters is awkward and forced although very well done, etc.). I get to the scene where Jeffrey gets discovered in the closet...

... and the DVD starts skipping and then just stops

I guess I could just skip the scene altogether, but I'm afraid I'll miss something.

Story of my fucking life. And I really doubt Blockbuster will have another one to replace it with.

I might just buy it, but then I'll have to sit on an incompletely-watched movie for a while, and I hate doing that.

By the way, Steve, what chokes Jeffrey's dad in the beginning? I rewound three times but still couldn't tell. Or am I not supposed to know that yet?

Mike, damn I don't remember. I saw it years ago and I can't remember if you're supposed to find out later or not.

300 kicked ass. It celebrated one of the few redeeming things about humanity, rare as it is.

I might just buy it. From what I've seen so far, it looks like it's worth having.

Good thing that obscure movies go for so cheap on eBay.

Figures. That was the only copy they had. I'm not surprised.

I've got a free rental credit now, but still an unfinished movie
