6:57 on the Ring!!!
In my old-ass 84 Skyline, completely and totally done up to the maximum it will go, including rollcage, body stiffening, and parkbench rice wing on the back for downforce.
Now I must confess, I used laughing gas on the back straight

But even without it, that puts me waaaay in the low 7's...
I think I'm gonna ditch that car and work on something that has more power to begin with so I can run 6-second times without NOS...

If GT4 is a circus, then I am the 'Ring master
Last night, I wrapped up my iA license test, I had the 'Ring lap and the Mulsanne straight test left. I went on the 'Ring, and 8 minutes and 58 seconds later, I had made one complete lap on my first try. 9:02 is Gold

Without ever putting more than 1 wheel off the track or even coming close to the pace car...
Then I just got a 90 Supra twin turbo and gave it the same treatment as the 84 Skyline, except no NOS

and I just did a 6:51, with at least 6 times completely off the track and the gearing set too short (I bounced off 200mph on the back straight).
See ya guys at 6 and a half
Yes I'm a complete and total loser I know

Man, I wish I had time to learn the track. Haven't done a full lap yet. Haven't played in over a week.

I the Mazda 6 touring car around it. Haven't done the track much but got it done in like 00:7:53. I hadn't done anything to the car except change the oil. We should all agree on one car unmodified and see who can get the best lap time. I submit the Legacy 3.0 R.

Let's make it a wagon.

Isn't there a touring wagon 3.0R?
Are we talking completely unmodded, as in not even an oil change? Or just no power enhancers? Like suspension, tires, drivetrain, whatnot would be fine?

I say COMPLETELY unmodded. No oil change or anything like that. I'm still for the sedan, but there's a vote for the wagon too.

I think you should be able to do oil changes. The more times you try for it the slower the car will go. Some of us are going to have a learning curve on the track while others already are pretty familiar with it and will post fast times quicker. Know what I mean?

Hmm.. ok. I didn't realize that performance degrades with the regular oil so quickly. Sure, so lets do oil changes.

Cool, so it will be a 3.0R wagon or sedan (yet to be decided) with oil changes only?
Everyone agree?

by subaruadrian
Agreed. I vote Sedan.

Cool, I'll vote sedan too.
Hmm, maybe we should run a poll for a day or two?

Sure. Say we decide and start Monday?

I vote Legacy 2.0 GT Sedan (no spec B), just b/c I have one that's bone-stock already
But I can buy a 3.0R sedan and do it if that's the vote...

booo sedan, go wagon!
The extra weight makes for easier oversteer right?
no turbos.

OK, that's 3 for the sedan and 1 for the wagon.

OK, I'm going to start a poll. People may not be checking this thread that might want in on the action! Revote there please.

Couldn't resist posting these.
I hadn't played the game for several week, but when I came back, I found my perfect car in the game, and I didn't even know it was IN the game until the other day. I have no desire to mod it in any way; the only thing I did was put soft sports tires on it and brought the ASM and TCS down a bit, and the car drives absolutely perfect. Has gobs of power, will do 180mph stock, handles as neutrally as a Miata, and looks damn good doing it too.
Behold the Audi RS4:

How far are you guys? I hit 50% yesterday... I have like 130 cars too

I'm broke again. I have no money. But I have these two beauties now

:

The über-geeky GT4 players will know that 4 road-going Japanese GT1 cars appear in the used car list roughly every 700 days in the game. I saw them come up at 700 days, but didn't have near enough dough. So before I hit 1400 days I save my money and did that one rally race that makes you $275k a bunch of times, and I bought both of these mofos for $1.2 million a pop.
Worth every penny too. Although I had no control of it at all and went completely off the track at least 10 times, I got the Nissan to do a 5:43 on the Ring!!

They'll do 230-240 on the Mulsanne straight no prob too.
Speaking of the Ring, I finished my last Super license test, the Merc 190 EvoII touring car one lap on the Ring. It's extremely difficult, this was about my 40th try (I broke a controller I got so mad at it). But I finished it today with a 7:05. Gold is 7:07
Man, no wonder I can't get any ass

I'm at 54.4% and only 103 cars.
I got a 7'19.470 on that final Super test. I didn't try to get better than that, I thought screw it- I've spent enought time on these Super tests.
Anybody top 308 mph? That's my best top speed so far.
Also not getting any.
