Hey--first time I've used the subject slot, and it was barely visible.
It is a scholalry review of a large number of papers on climate history done up in a soft-cover book.
Don't know the price as I got by way of making a contribution to the privately-funded research group.
I have a degree in Geophysics, and this is the best compilation on climate history that I have read.

There's an article in my ME magazine. It talks about Engineering laws, etc. But the last paragraph I found rather humorous.
The world is rapidly approaching a crisis in the field of energy, as worldwide demand for fossil fuels continues to stress a diminishing supply. The impending shortfall has led to numerous investigations into alternate sources of energy, such as solar, geothermal, and biological, each having serious political implications when extended to effective scale. Global warming further complicates the economic and social aspects of the problem.
Since all approaches to deal effectively with these issues must satisfy the laws of thermodynamics, perhaps a better communication between policy-makers and thermodynamicists could lead to a sound solution.

We should find something totally useless to power our cars. Garbage and politicians come to mind...

Most politicians are lawyers, so it makes sense to me. More fuel for the economy!

I've been reading over some specifications/documentation on the ethanol industry, transportation, etc for work, and ran across this paragraph:
Blending Systems: It was assumed that all terminals converting to ethanol distribution, for the first time, would need to install new blending systems. In Study Case B1 287 terminals would need to add blending equipment, while in Study Case C an additional 379 terminals would need to add blending systems. For the combined Study Cases, a total of 666 terminals require new blending systems.
QED, ethanol is the devil.

Holy crap.... I just wanted to drive my car in the snow. You guys are nuts!
Also, I found my post ironic considering much of the US just hit record lows, and parts of the southeast got record high snowfall this winter. Scientists and poloticians and activists can say whatever they want, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.

Its cool, we'll just swap seasons. Snow without tons of salt in NC (contrasted with PA's "there might be snow, better lay down 2in of salt just in case) was pretty cool. And not just for the fun factor, quarter panel rust has progressed more slowly in 4 years here than 1 winter in PA.
I've actually been think that since I like cars, I probably will never live in the northeast again.

I'm glad we don't salt our roads, they quit doing that late 80s. It was causing too many moose accidents.

That, and how come all the Alaska plated cars older than 5 years old are all rusty? I see several a day here in western washington.

The moose was on the road using it as a salt lick.
No salt here, most of our rust comes from gravel blasting all the paint off. If the paint stays in most cases there won't be any rust. Most of the rust on our cars come from moisture being trapped on the back side of the panel like the rear quarters where the factory placed foam rubber in the corners. The fenders are from rock chips and debris trapped between the inter structure and back side of the fenders.
