Was there a gasket you needed for this or did you just use RTV?

Did you find anything specifically wrong with the harness? Or did you just redo them to be on the safe side?

I've never had those connectors fail.

Keep in mind those were tested, but junkyard, igniters and the igniter pigtails were also junkyard parts. I grabbed what seemed like good ones, but something may have gotten past me.

After hours of messing with that harness I gave up. Never found any problems with it so it may not even be the harness. May be the pins in the connectors. But at least this eliminates that as a possible cause and I extended the wires to the ignitors and also reoriented them, they were a bit tangled and coming out the wrong side of the harness so it should work better this way. Far as I could tell Jess, you did a great job.

CJ - No gasket exists that I know of. Just use RTV ultra grey or something.

Also, just a note, there are new bolts that should be used with the new style oil separator. They aren't tapered like the original bolts and provide a little more surface area to clamp the separator.

Kimo, I read somewhere that the knock sensor wire needs to point in a certain direction. Like where it comes off the sensor. Cant remember where i read it. Also, another thing i heard is that relocating the knock sensor, higher up on the block, fixes an oversensitive sensor. Just food for thought.

I too read that the sensor is supposed to be pointed between 1 and 2 o"clock when you're looking at the engine, which it is already. Thanks though. I did a datalog today whent he car was cold and I think I should have captured the knock so I'll upload the exel sheets later tonight. I also realized this software can log wideband A/F ratio and I found my cable that plugs into my LC-1 but it has a male serial port of some type and my laptop doesn't have that port. Gotta get an adapter, hopefully USB for it and then I should be able to log everything.

Ready to spray chrome.

GF watching.

2 coats of tint on silver lenses 4 coats on the chrome. 3 coats clear.

Before and after. Before cut and buff.

Here's what the trunk looks like without garnish.

Finished product after washing the car. I don't really like the way they came out because I don't like blacked out tail lights. They look too ricey. They looked much better before we did the second coat on the lenses. I didn't want 2 coats on them but the first coat wasn't even and looked like crap so the second coat was necessary to darken them up enough so it's not noticeable. I still have my turbo legacy lights which I may spray later with a spray gun this time and mix some black paint into some clear and do it right. Then these will be for sale. Maybe sooner if I get sick of them. I can even tint the red section if someone wants it black too.

Much better, might have to use the rest of my can of nightshades on my 91 tails. I've always loved the pre-facelift front ends better but the tails are just too obnoxious.

You like them that dark? They looked great with just one coat. Instead of a silver it was like gun metal silver and you could still see the reflector pattern and read the legacy badge.

Yeah, they look good, but I agree, too dark. I like the taillights on the 92-94's. I was bummed when I heard it wouldn't swap over. I was looking forward to that mod.

Well just you guys wait. When you see them with one coat they will look great. IMO. Black vinyl roof and black vinyl wrapped side skirts coming real soon. I guess the guy isn't shipping the vinyl til the weekend. Even though I paid him days ago.

Also in the mail is a cable that should allow me to plug my wideband into my laptop and datalog wideband A/F ratio in evoscan I'm hoping.

Just get a 92-94 shell, swap over the core support and front clip and you'll get what you want :)

I'd love to have 92-94 rear bumper and tail lights and trunk but that wouldn't work. You'd need rear quarter panels welded on, forget that.

Yeah, can't swap rears without significant work. Too bad. Kimo, the lights turned out decent. Looks better then stock.

Thanks Florin. Hopefully someone will buy them when I decide to sell them. Make up the money I spent on the lights and painting them. They sure were a pain in the ass to mask off. Had to get into the cracks with that tape. Took forever.

Yup, I'll put these up for sale soon and throw mine back on after painting them. Florin painted his the other day, just waiting to see some better pictures. He did his with a spray gun though and from the cell phone shots it looked like he sprayed the red as well as the rest of it.

Yesterday I finally got my vinyl in the mail after waiting 9 months for it. I was about to remove all my interior panels and exterior trim and slap that vinyl on but my friend saw the 3 dings I had on top of my hood and said,"why not fill those in real quick?" That turned into,"Hell, we might as well just paint the roof black while we're at it!" So we grinded out the rust in those dings and filled them in and sprayed some primer on it real quick like since we were running out of time. Sometime in the next couple weeks we'll sand the whole roof and spray it black. No rattle can this time!

Nice, so you waited 9 months to get the black vinyl to wrap your roof, just to have it get there and decide you wanted to paint it instead? I'm glad your not jumping into anything without thinking about it first. Anyway, enough giving you a hard time. Paint will probably look a lot better anyway. Plus you're fixing the dings and dent in the roof now too. While you're at it you should paint the sideskirts too.
