Found a cool black plastic oil cap off an 89 Subaru Justy in the junkyard. Fits like stock. I also fixed my rear driver's side door. It had no power at all. I thought it was like that when I got it but I think I might has disconnected the connectors in the B pillars when I was swapping to manual belts and forgot to hook them up because I took the panel off today and they were hanging there so I just plugged them in and now my window and lock works! YES! That will be nice for anyone riding in the back to west coast subaru show. It's nice not to have to reach in the driver's door all the time to unlock it and lock it.

Teaser pic mocking up my freshly painted side skirts. 2 thick coats of plastidip. They will sit a tad bit higher so they're right up under the doors but it gives you a good idea of how they fit when trimmed up properly. Bought the hardware to hopefully get them mounted up here in a week or so. I like them.

After looking at it, it kinda of makes the car look odd like the middle of the car is slimmer top to bottom. Hmm...I plan to eventually repaint the spoiler and door handles pearl white and I'll probably take the skirts off and do them as well. Eventually I'd like to respray the whole car. The peal is pretty dead.

I bet they'd look awesome!...

If I could see 'em.

Kidding. They look good, but would be would be better matching the body, IMO. As they are, they kind of blend in with the bottom of the car and lose some of their shapeliness, if you will.

Yeah, the photo is very dark. I had to open it in a editing software and adjust the brightness to see more detail.

Cell phone shot in cloudy weather. That's why I was saying it makes the car look weird. Certainly better in person but definitely needs to be white.

I disagree.

Add black door handles, black wing, black wipers, black out the chrome around the windows, grill and antenna, and a black roof. Trim the mud flaps to the contours of the fenders, leave them long though...just not hanging out.

Trust me....photoshop it and see.

Gloss black will bring the rocker contours back out, if needed.

Overall, the car looks great Kimo. Makes me sad for mine......

Thanks jess. I think the black needs to remain a minor accent to fit my test. I feel the car is borderlining ricer status as it sits. I have a pearl white hood from NA legacy for when i go front mount and im gonna paint the skirts and door handles pearl white and the roof is getting painted black to match the trim around he windows. That should give it a really clean look. Im going to sell the tail lights. Then repaint my stock turbo lights but only one coat this time. As for the mud flaps they have to stick out the way hey are to keep the mud off the sides of my car.

Not to contradict Mike, because my case may have been an exception, but a '94 front hub did NOT interchange perfectly with a '98 hub. The tie rod end taper is different where it goes into the knuckle and the hole where the ABS sensor goes into is bigger on the second-gen hub. I had to take it to a machine shop to get it modded.

oh boy, you better get some pics when its dry. Mine is red but I painted the grill, scoop, spoiler, taillights, door handles black and am working on getting rid of the rest of the chrome

How do you remove the trim piece that goes along the pillars and up and over the windows? I wanna repaint mine but I don't want to break the clips or the piece itself trying to remove them

I'm also getting rid of the rest of my chrome and I got rid of all my badges except the one in my grill. I will be painting my door handles white though and my side skirts. Just don't know when. I want to eventually respray the car with a very nice pearl white. It needs it.

I'm pretty sure the '94 was an AWD, an LSI, I believe. But, yeah, it is weird.

Off topic, but why does my quoting someone else just come out in text and not in a box and in a different color? Do I have to change my settings somewhere?

You've got the quotes all messed up. I see more than one quote going on in that post.

Sorry I edited my first post thinking you hadn't read it yet saying that
You only have to remove the rubber seal around the windows in the doors and then you'll see a bunch of screws that are holding metal brackets in place. Those need to be removed and then underneath those are a few screws that hold the trim itself on. On the wagons I think there's also bolts that go through the roof off the trim that you have to get to behind the interior trim panels in the back of the wagon. Also, to get the rear corner window trim pieces off the sedan there is one bolt that goes through the roof under the interior trim panel.

You shouldn't break any of those. I broke the clips holding the moldings in place on top of the windshield and the rear window because someone replaced every window on this car I guess and put a ton of glue around them which glued the clips permanently in place. Now I don't know what I'm going to do and I also bent the rear window molding and put a nice crease in it trying to get it free. Now I'm pissed.
