Are you positive Spence? I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I've heard that only the STi had a quicker steering rack.

Early USDM WRX is 16.5:1, I am not sure about the EJ255 WRXs.

IIRC the BC/BF Legacies are faster.

When you cut down the clutch resovoir, how much do you have to trim off?

Quite a but... lot more than I wanted to.

And as for the whole steering rack thing... Mine is out of an 07, and it bolted in... the 05 and up WRX racks have the same ratio as the STi ones. So Kimo... mine is from an ej255 rex

I fucking hate bleeding clutches.

I'd rather build an engine than bleed a clutch.

I've never done it. Mine will need to be bled for sure. Right now, my clutch is all the way to the floor. It'll pop back up from the spring or something if you pull on it but if you push it at all it springs back to the floor.

With that comment though....I'm not looking forward to it now. Is it like bleeding brakes?

I have a power bleeder that I've never used. You hook it up to the resevoir and fill it with fluid and then pump it up and crack the bleeder screws one at a time. No risk of getting air into the system. Plus it's super easy to do by yourself.

Would the power bleeder work for bleeding the clutch or is that a different procedure?

Have you done away with the damper? If not, I'd suggest doing that. It's much easier to bleed the clutch without it.

For some reason, don't know why, don't care why, bleeding the clutch for me was maybe the most frustrating job I have done on my car. Did it about four years ago. Got a 50 gallon drum of fluid and filled from that job. Not really, but seemed close to it. This was prior to the 6 speed swap.

I don't have the damper anymore. It went away with the 6 speed swap. Am using the SS braided line also now. So paranoid about letting air into that system again.

Spenser, just exhale and let all the bad out, and then inhale the good in.

Yes, you can get rid of the damper.

Also, a tip for bleeding the clutch. Depress the plunger on the slave cylinder back into the slave cylinder after you have depressed the clutch pedal a few times. This helps force air out of the slave cylinder and back up into the MC.

Got most of the stereo done...
Fixed the alignement enough to drive to get it aligned lol
Welded up a new steering knuckle... errrr... dave did that... lol
Got the clutch all done

Steering is just about 3 turns lock to lock... Which seems shorter than the old legacy rack.

I'm excited that its almost done :D

Will be done tomorrow for sure!
