I'm not too fond of it either, but it was such a great deal, I couldn't pass it up. I might dye the red on the shoulders in the future. I do know they come in Black with grey suede inserts...look at fatgc8's build.

Just to update you all...I have recently taken a good job back home in VA. I am actually moving back tomorrow morning because they need me right away.
I hope the Subaru can make this long trip again...2200 miles. I have her running good so I don't think there will be any problems. She is loaded down again, this time with the EJ22T and the EJ20G heads and other goodies!

Have a safe trip back to VA. Let me know if you need anything when you get there.
D,
I really appreciate that bro. I will def still keep in touch; you do the same! I'm staying the night in Amarillo, TX tonight and the wagon is hanging in there. How is the legacy?

You know what makes a mind blowing difference? Sealing your doors. Really brings out the low end. I wouldn't even waste money on upgrading my speakers unless I was planning on sealing the doors.

The car was leaking engine coolant the other day...found out that it was the by-pass hose. I replaced the by-pass hose, upper radiator hose, and lower radiator hose.
She is back on the street!
I have found a semi-local shop to professionally do my swap...can't wait!
I am still going back and forth on whether I should do this to:
1) my car
2) a sedan
3) do this in general or just save my money for an STi
What do you guys think?

Hmm, id save your money for a STi. I love my Legacy SS, but if I have the cash I am buying a 05-07 STi.
Once you drop that motor in lets say your legacy or a SS you still need some engine management and things can get pricey and basically you are are at a STi anyway, minus the stiffer chassis and newer overall car with newer better suspension, etc etc. You know...
BAH!!! STIs are overrated... sure they have newer stuff but a car is a car if you can get the swap done, i'd drop it in an SS.. but that's just me, i love the look of older more "Boxy" cars...

Are you talking a new STI? For that money, I'd build an FFR 65 coupe (don't know if you could fit an EJ engine in it. Would be an interesting exercise). Could make money on resale, too. But otherwise, I'd definitely stick with the older car.
I can see it both ways...I can spend the money in this car and have a fast sleeper or I can just save my money for something that is already built for the power and speed from the chassis up. I go back and forth on it everyday. I would love to build mine because nobody around would have something like this..everyone has an STi.

STIs are pretty sick and I drool over them every time I see one but at the same time I'm thinking,"fuckin rich kids". So it's a double edge sword.
