I got the bushings installed today. Relatively easy process. Write-Up here: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=48011

Perfect fit! I'm really happy with this purchase. Exchange rate and shipping from the UK made it expensive at $78 but oh well. Where else are you going to find them? Nowhere. I tried.

If you are a motivated and quick worker with air tools and a hacksaw you can get this job done in 30-45 mins. If you take your time like me and clean up all the parts and take breaks and just go along at a leisurely pace plan on 3 hours lol.

My HTC Thunderbolt colors are off in certain lighting conditions. The bushings are indeed purple and not blue as you can see in the last pic.

Nice, glad you finally found bushings that work. Too bad they aren't STi pink in color.

lol my car has all kinds of colors underneath it and more to come in the future. So far I have cherry pinkish red, black, green, yellow, purple, green, gold and silver.

Oh BTW, the bushings seemed to have done away with what was left of my clunk problem. It sure has a solid launch now. Highly recommend all the mods I've done ha!

Great job on those. Again, and again, thanks for sharing your findings. Maybe over the winter I'll jump on more upgrades for my car and invest in some of the bushings you've done. Right now though, I'm happy it's on the road, daily driver duty.

Thanks Dominator!

NVH doesn't seem to be changed. After the subframe locking bolts I can't imagine much of anything adding anymore NVH.

Hahaha....this is true :)

You could do the lateral & trailing links too. I've got those as well as all the other bushings....minus the rear diff. It's noisy, but not as bad as the impreza.

Beatrush actually sells a replacement bracket that has no bushings. It's just a solid piece with bolt holes. Imagine how rough of a ride it would be with all metal bushings...

I doubt it wouldn't be much different between the lock bolts.

I meant replacing all the bushings with metal bushings including engine and trans mounts, etc.

That is probably part of it. I would start with this and if that doesn't do it replace the trans crossmember bushings and rear diff outrigger and definitely subframe locking bolts.

Installed my new Fumoto oil drain valve today and I changed the oil and drained the water from my engine and replaced it with actual coolant/water mix since it's freezing now.

Those drain plugs have always made me nervous that they'd catch on something and drain the oil going down the road.
Never heard of that happening, though.

It's hardly larger than the original plug. Plus that lever would be pretty difficult to get open without doing it by hand.

I think what he's trying to say is that he strongly disapproves of the drain plug. Or that he really likes it, I'm not quite sure which.

Nice. I like it but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I did however drive home from work last night in the snow! First time ever driving this car in the snow.
