Thanks, not too many can touch me for mechanical turnarounds...

But I can't hold a candle, much less a match, to Spencer on this! He is fucking cooking!

Cj... I need to talk to you about this... I'll call you in a bit...

And I'm at a loss on this issue... It must be wiring but wtf?

With the car turned on, but engine not running, the MAF two of the MAF wires have 5 volts... The Blue one... and the White one that doenst actually go anywhere into the MAF just an empty pin...

When the MAF is plugged in it will start, idle for a few seconds, then stumble and die... With the MAF unplugged it will start, idle for a few seconds and die. BUT when the MAF is unplugged you can rev up the motor, where as with the MAF plugged in if you even think about touching the throttle the engine immediately dies...

Hrm... this is a wierd one...

Any thoughts?

Fixed it... Discovered I'm retarded. LOL

All the wires on the passenger side of the engine bay had had the connectors removed, so I had to match them all up and reconnector them... well... I kinda mixed up the MAF and MAP wires... the Black White and Red ones... because they look identical when everything is just in a big bunch of wires.

Swapped them back and the car started immediately w/ no Check Engine lights!

So everything in that respect is done...

Then we bled the brakes... and the pedal still feels like mush... Well we think the Master Cylinder is shot... Gotta run to the JY tommorrow and get another Non ABS one...

But I drove it home!! Which is cool... She runs and drives great except the ultra squishy brakes.

So I'm pretty much done!!!

Its DONE!!! Yay! One week and One Day Start to finish... and I drove it around all day today...

It feels different... IDK what... but something is definitely different... It feels stiffer...

Dave told me to run regular old Valvoline Gear Oil.... because Synthetic is "too slippery for the synchros"

I'm calling Bullshit. It takes for-fucking-ever to be able to shift to second. As SOON as I can I'm going back to my Tranny Cocktail that I discovered wayy back when I did the transmission...

I'll try and get some final finished pics of the car tomorrow :D

Dave is right...if you're having trouble shifting into second then there is probably something else wrong.

I ran Redline MT90 in my SS for a while, and it shifted worse than it did with GL4

Switching oils in a transmission can be difficult to get used to. The tricky thing is, some transmissions cannot handle GL-4 without disintegrating synchros.

It basically can be broken down into this: I thinner grade lubricant (as in synthetic) will do well right off the bat driving around city in cold temps. But if you do a lot of highway use, you will notice trans temps get very high.

Gear oil is much better for highway use and its lubricity all around. It may be harder to shift in cold climates, but its better the in long run for longer drives and shock absorbtion, etc.

Try royal purple 80w 90. I havent had a single problem with it in any of my vehicles and its the best of both worlds. It may be 80w 90, but it sure doesnt feel like it at 35 degrees pulling out of my driveway.

damnn yous a sexy bitchhhhhhh

haha sweet!!!

So I have to ask what kind of fuel economy you getting with that thing! j/k

Seriously though is that coolant tank from a STi? I think I am going to change my coolant tank to that one looks to be smaller and would fit better.

Also your upper coolant hose isn't completely pushed on. Did that on my original rad ended up cracking and be careful with that little nipple if you adjut the upper hose since wheen I adjusted my upper hose I cracked that nipple too. So it was a loose looose looose situation!

Doug... Yes... Yes I do!

Brandon... Let the damn wood screw go man... It was on the car like that since I bought it...

And Eric... Thanks :D

And the only reason I got such shitty mileage on that tank is because there was about 4 gallons of 4 year old gas in the tank! Well that and that I've been on boost constantly for the last quarter of a tank since I finally fixed my wastegate haha. But mainly the ancient bad gas.

I've been averaging about 23mpg mixed city and hwy.

I'll check that hose... cant believe i missed that lol... I've broken those nipples to... then the entine radiator cracked down the side

The tank is off a wrx I believe... Got it for free!

I did modify it slightly... there is a brace on the bottom and I cut it off cuz i didnt need it and it hit my airbox. But this tank is defintely better and isnt as awkward shaped as the stupid stock one.
