Its actually a n/a radiator from an a/t. End caps are definately not plastic, I'm thinking brass.

You may get some discoloration with the brass ones. However, I'd suggest flushing the cooling system and filling with fresh prestone.

Alright, now i have the gaskets done and almost ready to re-install the engine. I'm going to do it the easy way and put the trans in first.

While it was out and i had the exhaust manifold off i went ahead and did some more wrapping.....

wrapped and coated cross pipe next to the SS 5MT i got from EJ KILLA

Almost done, just have a few more things to button up; driveline, shift linkage, exhaust, shift linkage, axles, and my recently-turned front centric rotors. I'm going to have a second o2 bung welded on since i have the exhaust off that way i can just hook my wideband up in the future when i order it. Then it's on to driving... YAY!!!!!!!

August 27th-28th. Me, You, Mike and Florin should rally down together this time. We could all meet in Centralia or something and roll down. I think we should get all the first gens together this time. Last time everyone was spread out and it was lame.

i hope too, but that sounds like a great idea. I'm just going to be getting the rest of the car looking a little better.

I'm going to do a little work on one piece of my intercooler piping. Previous owner that had this setup had bent the pipe going to the IC and instead of the pipe being round, it's more square. Ive had to have about 6-8 inches of 2.5" hose on there for ever and the hose is not 17lbs capable lol. So today im taking it off, going to use a table and a c clamp and see what i can do

Oh and do my axles, drive line, rotors and see about getting ahold of the welder down the road

well i fixed my intercooler piping, now one of my ends arent so square and my bumper lines up better whereit meets the fender on the drivers side. there's even a half inch gap between the piping and the bumper cover

little things like that make me happier.

So now it's a little bit of father and son time then back to work. Im hoping to get my o2 bung done tonight so i can button everything up, get the fluids in and get her fired up tonight.

Of I have to change the title again, I picked up ej killa's 5 speed with cryo treated gears.

This morning I buttoned the rest up and added oil. After work I'm going to add the rest of the fluids and go for a drive.

Well, car is running nice and strong, totally awesome!!!

Today i cracked open my old transmission, and sure enough i stripped a gear. Interesting enough tho, i also broke a shifter fork. Nice!!!

I found alot of metal in the transmission too, im used to that tho.

Good times.

My original plan was to take the internals from the 3.90 cable transmission and put them in the turbo legacy case, but now im unsure if i really want to do this. I may just scrap them both and collect some money. Decisions decisions.

I have 3 gearsets now that all include a stripped gear. Does anyone on here see any reason why i should keep the gears and synchros as extras? Im not going to be dumping clutches or anything like that.

O man you are making me scared. I am getting ready to install my ACT HD clutch kit and LW FW.... not that I'm going to be "dumping" the clutch, but I do intend on racing it and having fun. My brother's tranny on his SS just blew up too. Don't wanna get a wrx tranny due to the one in the Radio Flyer going out (thats why I sold it) .

CJ did you have a TD04 then upgrade to a VF39? Just kinda curious what the results were, if it's worth the ~$350, or if it's a waste of money. I am running a TD04 w/ rt stage 2 chip. I know you can put the vf39 on there with the stage 2 chip and it won't cause any issues, but I'm also in the process of saving up for a standalone, so I wasn't sure if I should just skip the VF39 and wait for whatever turbo I decide to get then. The positive I was looking at for the VF39 was that if it was quite a big difference in power I would buy it, drive around with it for a few months and then sell it for not much cheaper than i bought it for if nothing happened to it obviously.
