I have to say it seriously sucked not knowing what happened. A few guessed you had been shipped out but no one was sure.

I dont know if your reputation is completly ruined, you can gain alot back by taking care of us who originally paid.

I still might get a bumper, everything considered. I want to see the hood first though.

David!
Thanks so much for getting back to us...and thanks for making sure this will still happen after all! And thanks for taking care of the screw up with the hoodscoops and your friend jon...so that they will be perfect...I'm sure that was a pain. Don't worry too much about your reputation. Its really hard under any circumstances to get things going for a car with this small of an enthusiast community. I'm just thankful someones doing it. I think everyone has to respect that fact that you were serving in the military, things were out of your control, and I think you deserve our support. That said, it would have been nice to at least know what was going on. Anyways, I think as someone else said, as long as the hoods and bumpers come out fine and everything works out (hopefully fairly quick now) I think all will be cool. And I'd be interested in other parts...like a nice spoiler...Maybe you should do a hood with gauge mounts in it!
Thanks...I'm so excited!

I too will be interested to see something for the '92 - '94s. I understand it'll be a looong while, but it'll be that long before I'll be able to afford it

92? Me too. No pressure to do anything though. Finish the 90-91s and then start thinking about it. Just wanted to let you know there's a market out there.

Update Sept 8 2003

A couple things.

A.B.E. Just finished the first CORRECT hood today, so as soon as i inspect it for defects or problems, i will give him the go ahead to knock out the rest.. Then i will start shipping ASAP.. no delays anymore.

Bumpers will happen Imediately after when i pick up the hoods i'll be dropping off the bumper and my wagon so that he can get started.

Expect bumpers to be shipped before christmas..hopefully i can make it my christmas present to you guys for the paitents you've all had.

Eric Eaton, I will send your scoop and refund out this week. i just needed to get paid first. :)

...PSPSPS..

BAD HOODS: Ok we all know jon messed up the scoop. and this anouncement really dosen't apply to the group buy.. but i have 9 BAD Hoods I will be calling "RACE HOODS"..

Now there is actually nothing wrong with them physically, but apperance wise they have a 1/4 inch rise around the hood scoop., they'll pass the 50ft rule(i.e they'll look good at 50 ft away). But for race hoods they are lighter, than stock, strong as stock. the hood scoop is open but the vents are AS IS. if you want to make the vents functional either dremel out all 221 honeycombs by hand like i have to do on each Group-buy hood (labor of love people!), or just cut out the vents completely and screw in some wire grillwork you can pick up at any parts store.

Image

All factory mountings are retained as well as the factory windshield sprayers.

For racing all that would be need at the least.. is bolt up and race. Hood pins not being a requirement..but are suested for racing applications.

Image

If you want more of a finished look i would recomend a profestionall Auto body shop for exsact fitting/finish.

If you can't already tell i can't spell worth shit..deal..please bear with me.

Price for these "Race hoods" will be $300.00 flat..

Image

!HEY, WAIT DAVID, ISEN'T THAT PRICE HIGHER THAN THE GROUP BUY PRICE?

Well yes it is..should have gotten in on the group-buy...

Shipping? yes there is shipping how much is it... I don't know yet.. i haven't priced that out yet.. but i know i won't be eating that cost.. hell if your in the area you can come buy any pick em up.

For those on the group-buy who paid your shipping and handleing or who haven't, i still honor the 50 dollar S&H per part cost i quoted.. if it's more, i will eat it..

If your interested in buying a "Race Hood" e-mail me at:

with Race hood as the subject.

I already purchased a group buy hood but those race hoods dont look half bad! I think 300 is still a great deal for a custom lightweight hood WITH A SCOOP.

When will the first set of group buy hoods start to ship?

If all goes well (crosses fingers) by the end of this month hoods should start flying home to thier owners.

Ciper, I'm not sure if you've gathered this by now, but you may want to email or PM David directly for further information on your parts. This is recommended for all those involved.

I wonder if he got shipped out again (not that that would make it ok to not contact anyone)?

Or if he is full of sh!t, stealing the money and leading us on for infinity.

perhaps he is busy once again with other things. But that's def no reason to have drug this on this long. Try to find a phone number for him and call to see what's up.

Oo, I smell a scam. At the very least, he should have returned the money and then posted an update to resend when he finally had the actual finished goods in-hand. Good thing I was too late to make the group buy...

So I take it if I havn't, then no one else has had recent contact with him either? I remember last I heard was when he was selling the "2nd" hoods on nasioc....
If nothing else, this is really bad communication...and delay after delay and on and on...

MY HOOD!!!!!

Well i drove 5 hours and got my fiberglass RS stlye hood and the full refund which i didn't expect, i just expected a refund for the bumper. Jonathan is a good guy it seems to me i just think the whole thing hit too many bumps and like murphy's law it happend to david and jonathan and all of us who were in on the group buy. It is no ones fault just shit happens. Anywho i am very pleased with the hood just need to take it to a body shop for fitment and painting since i do not want to try and mess with that.
