Back to the original topic, when open all the way the hood is actually behind the line of the firewall! No restriction on what you can reach. Its better than removing the hood since it protects the glass.

Also when if you try to use the prop to hold it in place you have to flip it around, so the part that was before hooked into the hood is now on the strut tower, and the part that was in the car is now in the hood.
